Remarkable and Inspiring Women FHE Lesson Series
After doing lessons on the prophets of the modern Church of Jesus Christ, as well as the Presidents of the United States (all of whom are male)…I decided I should do a Family Home Evening lesson series on remarkable and inspiring women throughout history to give my daughters some female role models who we could study, learn from, and emulate.
See complete Family Home Evening Lesson Archive here.
In determining which women would be included, I tried to get a variety … religious and scientific, artistic and athletic, people who lived recently and some who lived hundreds or even thousands of years ago. The women who made the list were those who followed a call of inspiration from the Holy Spirit of God, whether they realized it at the time or not. Most of them overcame tremendous challenges to achieve marvelous or even miraculous accomplishments, and all showed hard work and determination and other characteristics I’d like my children to follow.
Below is the list of women highlighted in the FHE lesson, followed by their birth year. There is one slide on each women, which isn’t a lot per person, but still, I have found these lessons to be great conversation starters with the kids. We talk about religion, science, history, and the many other significant events these women were involved in, and hope it can provide the same for your family.
