Latter-day Presidents of The Church of Jesus Christ FHE Lesson
Summary: A Family Home Evening (FHE) lesson with three slides for each President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (biography, Church administration, and famous quotes). It sparked great learning about leadership and Church history, great conversations about doctrine and God’s plan, and of course, faith and testimony building for our family. I hope it does the same for you.

Background on Creating this Lesson
After finishing the Family Home Evening (FHE) lesson series on Presidents of the United States, I thought I should do a similar series on the presidents of The Church of Jesus Christ in the latter days. I wanted to keep it brief, but one slide on each seemed insufficient, so I decided to do three slides on each, one page about their biographical sketch, one page on the developments in Church administration under them, and one page of famous quotes or teachings from them. With 17 presidents, that generated a presentation with 51 slides, which made it a little longer than the 47 presidents of the United States.
Purpose of the FHE Lesson
My purpose in creating and delivering this FHE lesson was to help my kids:
- Learn about the lives, character, personality, and teachings of the latter-day presidents of the Church.
- See the examples left to us by these men of what it means to be good leaders and better disciples of Christ.
- Gain inspiration from their remarkable achievements as we all strive to be better Latter-day Saints and witnesses of Jesus Christ.
There is so much that could be said about each of these men, and of course volumes of quotable teachers, that many things had to be left out. Still, if you find any glaring omissions, please let me know and I’ll see if I can incorporate it. Thanks!
